A specialist in 20th-century decorative arts and design, Harold Mollet works as a consultant for interior designers, brands, and private collectors.
After studying art history, he joined Galerie Yves Gastou in 2012, where he refined his eye and deepened his knowledge of 20th-century furniture. There, he discovered the elegance of 1940s designers such as André Arbus and Gilbert Poillerat, as well as the strength and vibrancy of 1970s materials, exemplified in Pierre Sabatier’s decorative panels. Alongside his work with the gallery’s international collectors and decorators, he undertook the inventory of Yves Gastou’s personal ring collection and contributed to the conception and writing of the book “Bagues d’Homme”, published by Éditions Albin Michel with Delphine Antoine.
Harold Mollet then continued his advisory work independently across Europe and the United States. Maintaining a transversal approach to styles and periods, he works on commissioned projects while also presenting a selection of pieces chosen for their histories and aesthetics—their strength and presence.
He currently collaborates with collectors on interior design projects in Paris and Los Angeles, and advises haute couture brands on acquisitions. Over the years, he has built a diverse collection, parts of which he exhibits by invitation in galleries and fairs, such as at Art-O-Rama in 2023 at the invitation of Marion Mailaender, or in specific projects like the decoration of the collector’s suite by Gilbert Kann, opened this year.
In recent years, Harold Mollet has also developed an interest in German design and is preparing an exhibition centered on a figure from the “Konstruktive Tendenzen” movement.
