Works and lives
Zohreh Zavareh is a visual artist who graduated from the École supérieure d’art de Clermont Métropole. Drawing inspiration from theatre, she incorporates its visual codes into her practice. In her work, she explores a wide range of materials, from metal and wood to textiles and plastics. The sculptures that make up her installations allow the artist to construct a genuine stage set, suggesting unity of place through the presence of a sink, of time through a watch, and evoking the presence of a ghostly body through a jumpsuit casually draped over a chair, infested with hand-painted ants. Through these clues—further enriched by the mysterious and poetic titles of her works—Zohreh Zavareh seeks to create parallel narratives, those of objects that come to life. Her work has recently entered the collection of the Fonds d’art contemporain de la Ville de Paris as well as the collection of the Fonds départemental de la Seine-Saint-Denis.
