Oscar Lefebvre is a painter who graduated from the École des Beaux-Arts de Nantes (2021). His paintings are the result of a process of decanting personal images. If these images are a starting point, they are quickly forgotten and are only a pretext for the pictorial gesture. Some details are extracted and become subjects: dazzling halos, faces or singular objects appear as traces of a world that is certainly in decay, but which fascinates. These subjects, between portrait, landscape and still-life painting, illuminate areas of uncertainty, as if the situations observed were going to change or disappear. A succession of transparent layers in strokes reveals and conceals vibrant images whose nature is ambiguous. Often of small or medium format, Oscar Lefebvre’s paintings are composed when hung in sets that offer new readings. Oscar Lefebvre has participated in several group exhibitions, notably “Peintures Petits Beurres” at the galerie Maïa-Muller, “Traverser les silences” at Editions Dilecta (2022) and “Poltergeist” at the Assaut de la menuiserie in Saint-Étienne (2023). Recently, he was exhibited at the MOCO la Panacée as part of the exhibition “IMMORTELLE vitalité de la jeune peinture figurative” (2023). In the same year, he presented “Chiens de faïence” in the Salon space at DS Galerie.
