Milène Sanchez graduated from the École supérieure d’art et design of Saint-Étienne in 2021. Her pictorial practice unfolds around light and movement, oscillating between blur and sharpness, presence and disappearance. Nourished by her notes from literature, cinema, or art history, she establishes a sensitive dialogue with her subjects, allowing both loss of control and the precision of gesture to emerge. Preparing her own pigments, she develops unprecedented shades, between natural and artificial, and works with oil and turpentine through successive layers of glaze, creating vibrant atmospheres she describes as “fluorescence.” Her works have already entered major public collections such as FRAC Auvergne, FRAC Poitou-Charentes, the Musée Paul-Dini, and the Clermont Auvergne Métropole Collection. She has held several noteworthy solo exhibitions, including Vision rapide, vision appuyée (Galerie Claire Gastaud, Paris, 2023), Par éclair, par éclat (Clermont-Ferrand, 2022), as well as her first exhibition outside Europe at the ICICLE Art Center in Shanghai in 2024, curated by Myriam Kryger. She has also participated in group exhibitions such as Le jardin des délices (Paris, 2024) and A lily grafted onto a dandelion (Galerie Wouters, Brussels, 2024), confirming the growing recognition of her work on the contemporary art scene.
